AbstractRecently,special education develops rapidly in ou r own country with an improvem ent at the professional level. With the increased prevalence rates of Autism inthe society, much attention has been paid to Autism education from the special e ducation in China. Improving the standard in Autism education, training of profe ssionals in Autism education, and developing a healthy career in Autism educatio n are major issues in the special education of our own country. Autism educationis a relatively new area in special education in China. How to develop Autism e ducation adequately and how to promote professional development have become a ne w challenge to the workers in special education. This paper introduces the aimsand milestones in professional development of Autism education and curr iculum set tings. This hopes to provide some referential suggestions in developing this pro fession.
