  Abstract
Failure-avoidant behaviors are those strategies and behaviors adopted in achievement situations in order to minimize or avoid risk of failure to self-value, which includes self-value protection, self-handicapping, impostor fears, procrastination and defensive pessimism. Application of failure-avoidant behaviors and strategies sets up barriers for achievements and can lead to formation of unaccomplishment personality. The factor of situation is the main factor which influences the formation of failure-avoidant behaviors, and effective prevention and intervention measures should be taken for individuals who avoid failures.
